Every Sunday 10:55 am – 12:00 noon
Our sanctuary service is a traditional service of prayer, praise, and the sharing of the Christian story through the reading of scripture and a sermon. Our worship service is lead by our ministers with the assistance of volunteer worship leaders, elders and deacons. The center piece of the service is the sharing of communion, where each Sunday, all who believe that Jesus is the Christ are invited to share together in the Lord’s Supper. Praise through song is lead by our choir, which shares a variety of music each week with selections ranging from classical to contemporary Christian. Our music is enhanced by a pipe organ as well as the piano, and on occasion, by Handbells, guitars, and assorted percussion instruments.
Although children are welcome in the Sanctuary service, supervised childcare is provided for infants and toddlers in our nursery located in the West Building. Two paid staff members build strong relationships with the children in their care and give parents peace of mind as they worship.
Children’s Sermon – Every 2nd and 4th Sundays at 11:00 am
Every 2nd and 4th Sunday, children ages of all ages are invited to the sanctuary to hear the children’s sermon. After the children’s sermon or at the beginning of the 11:00 service on 1st and 3rd Sundays, they exit the sanctuary after the “Gloria Patri” and continue worship in the Children’s Worship Center located on the main floor of the Brown Building. Following the Gloria Patri, the greeter (adult leader) carries the Children Worship & Wonder banner out of the sanctuary signaling the children to follow quietly to their own special worship where they learn about God as they experience God and respond to Bible Stories through a Montessori approach to worship.
Worship – It’s In the Bag
We’re introducing a new worship aid for our 3rd through 5th graders. Prior to the 11:00 worship, go to the bag tree and select a book bag to be your guide during our sanctuary worship experience. Each bag is based on a different worship theme (e.g. music, prayer, Lord’s Supper) or holiday (e.g. Reconciliation, Easter, Passover). Inside the bag you may find:
- Books about the bag theme
- Activity sheets that you can do and/or take home with you
- Bookmarks to mark the scripture readings and hymns for the day
- Color pencils or crayons
- A Clipboard to steady your pages as you work
- A special treat you may take home
At the end of worship, simply return the bag (along with the books, crayons/color pencils, clipboard, and bookmarks) by placing it on the floor under the bag tree so that it can be restocked for another week.
