Pentecost
Pentecost is the great festival that marks the birth of the Christian church by the power of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost means “fiftieth day” and is celebrated fifty days after Easter. It also coincides on many years with the founding of St. Pauls Christian Church.
Youth Sunday
Although children and youth are incorporated in the worship service throughout the year, at least once a year our youth and children lead us in worship providing leadership in music, message and in serving Communion.
World Communion Sunday
World Communion Sunday – celebrated the first Sunday in October – is one of the most venerable of “special Sundays.” The day has taken on new relevancy and depth of meaning in a world where globalization often has undermined peace and justice – and in a time when fear divides the peoples of God’s earth. On this day we celebrate our oneness in Christ, the Prince of Peace, in the midst of the world we are called to serve – a world ever more in need of peacemaking. At St. Paul’s we often incorporate breads of many nations as part of the celebration.
All Saints Day
All Saints Day is observed on the first Sunday of November, when we pause to remember those in the congregation who have died in the previous year and to celebrate all the saints in our lives known and unknown.
