Ecclesia Class

Ecclesia Class

This is a class full of leaders, including our long time leader, Bill  Albert.   The Ecclesia class is for young and “young-ish” adults. We share leadership with various class members leading the discussion each week.  In addition to a variety of topics from the study of Scripture, to christian history and life application, the class enjoys coffee fellowship each Sunday morning.  Because many of our class members are teachers in other classes, we also get together for an almost weekly, “Theology on Tap” and Quarterly potlucks in members homes.   This group dedicates themselves to fellowship and outreach by participation in various church programs that combine study, service and fun. The class meets in the Brown Building and welcomes everyone.  See the  Ecclesia Calendar for regular updates.  Please let us know if you would like to share in leadership by:  leading the discussion or hosting coffee one Sunday morning, or by hosting a class potluck in your home.  Whatever best fits your schedule, we invite you to come grow in faith and community with us.

Inquirers

Designed for those exploring membership at St. Paul’s. This short-term course is offered periodically and focuses on the history and polity of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well as the local history of St.Paul’s. Please contact the church office for meeting times and location.  The next class will be in the spring.

Koinonia

Named after the Greek word for ‘Fellowship,’ this class is for adults of all ages – singles and couples. As they meet on Sunday morning, the class enjoys lively discussions and even occasional debates. Members rotate leadership duties, which brings a variety of study topics ranging from avoiding sin to medieval church history. Because of a recent merger with the Library Class, both groups now have a chance to appreciate the scholarly leadership of former pastor, Tom Law, as well as Bill Rouse, an attorney and learned scholar of of the Bible. There is always room for visitors.

The Elective Class

The Elective Class is designed for a variety of topics and leadership.  Through September we are delighted to have long-time adult teacher, Jackie Deaton, leading us in a discussion of the history of Christian Theology as seen through Art.  Please join us in the Law Building Library any Sunday.
