Diane Faires Ordination in May 2009

Saint Paul’s Christian Church is pleased to welcome our new Associate Minister, Reverend Diane Faires.  Diane comes to Saint Paul’s from her studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennesee.  She has completed her studies for a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained as a Disciples of Christ Minister in May of 2009.

Diane has had a range of  internships and work experiences to prepare her for this new role at Saint Paul’s.  Her internships have included the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Washington, DC, the Disciples Peace Fellowship as a peace intern, and Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement in Memphis, TN.  She has served at Vine Street Christian Church at Nashville, TN, as a missionary with Global Ministries in Sri Lanka, and as Volunteer Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity in Washington, DC.

Diane describes her long-range goals as:  “To be the pastor of a vibrant, inclusive congregation which lives out its faith through addressing the needs of its community, as well as reaching out to its brothers and sisters around the world.  I would like to be a minister who has strengths in preaching, worship leadership, pastoral care, and community involvement, and who uses those strengths to make God’s love and justice felt more powerfully within the congregation and beyond the congregation.”

Please help welcome Diane to our mission and fellowship at Saint Paul’s.
