Warmth for Wake
Warmth for Wake brings firewood to needy families of Wake County. Volunteers cut and split wood on site and deliver to recipients and occasionally collect wood from donors around Wake County. Anyone is welcome to come and help. The group usually meets the 2nd and 4th Sundays of December, January, February and March from 9am to 2pm.
Meals on Wheels Delivery
Meals on Wheels is a Wake County program that delivers nutritious meals to homebound elderly and people with disabilities. St. Paul’s sends three volunteers every third Wednesday of the month.
Helen Wright Center Breakfast
Urban Ministries runs the Helen Wright Center which works to reduce homelessness by providing temporary housing and support services for homeless women. St. Paul’s sends volunteers every fifth Sunday of the month who serve breakfast for the residents of the Helen Wright Center.
Christmas Angel Tree
Every year St. Paul’s adopts eight to ten families who would otherwise go without presents for Christmas and share our spirit of giving. Everyone in the church is encouraged to buy one of the items from the Angel Tree and donate it to a family.
CROP Walk
St. Paul’s participates in the CROP Hunger Walk every year which raises money and awareness about the hunger in this world both locally and internationally. This year’s CROP Walk is October 4, 2009. Anyone is welcome to join us. We have lunch at the church and then go as a group to walk around downtown Raleigh with hundreds of other supporters.
If you would like to join the St. Paul’s team or if you can support the team though donations, go to our special CROP website. TEAM SPCC
Interfaith Food Shuttle
The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, in the belief that hunger is unacceptable, alleviates hunger by developing systems to recover, prepare, and distribute perishable food for the area’s poor, hungry, undernourished and homeless. St. Paul’s youth and young adults volunteer to sort and distribute food bags several times each year.
